Ep 4 Doctors As Patients

Ep 4 Doctors As Patients

"Seeing too much of the chicken" is the phrase my husband uses for those situations where you just know a little too much. That's what it's like to be a doctor-patient sometimes - you (think you) know too much for your own good. This can lead to getting over-involved in care, having strong opinions and not always following advice.

My first guest on this episode is Dr. Barrett Fromme, a pediatric hospitalist and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago. Her daughter was in (her) hospital awhile back and Fromme talks about the loss of control, how to balance work and family in the same building and more.

My second guest is Sharon Dornberg-Lee, a licensed clinical social worker at a senior center in Chicago. Sharon spend a couple of years teaching seniors how to have Telehealth appointments, but all that teaching fell apart when she had to have her own Telehealth appointment. Tables turned.
